AAMCO Appoints New VP of
Technical Services
Horsham, PA – July 3, 2006 -
AAMCO is pleased to announce the hiring of Bill Larkin as Vice President,
Technical Services. Mr. Larkin has been with
Ford, Jaguar and Land Rover for the past twenty
years and has served many roles in the After
Sales area. He had responsibility for Technical
Training, Field Service, Rental Fleet
Management, Service Tools, Equipment, Literature
and Diagnostics .
Mr. Larkin was with AAMCO during the 1980’s and helped create
the AAMCO Rebuilders Academy. He also served on
the AAMCO Technical Hotline for ten years, and
conducted many AAMCO technical field seminars
“I know that AAMCO’s Technical Department has always been
highly regarded in the automotive industry,”
says CEO and President Todd Leff. “That’s why it
was so important that we find the right person
to lead our technical services and support
functions. I am confident we found the right man
for the job in Bill Larkin.”
“After conducting an extensive search of the entire
automotive aftermarket, we are thrilled to have
Bill join us again and lead our Technical
department to new heights,” adds Senior Vice
President of Operations Brian O’Donnell. “In the
complex transmission repair business, there are
many technical challenges. One of these is
teaching our technicians not only how to
diagnose and repair transmission related
problems, but also to diagnose other electrical
problems that affect the transmission. Bill’s
overall automotive experience will help him
create a new direction for our technical
department and raise our already outstanding
technical competencies even higher.”
“Today it’s impossible for a technician to remember all of
the information necessary to perform his duties
with the more than 150 different types of
transmissions that a technician is faced with
today. So to be prepared in today’s transmission
world, our technicians need to learn how to
access technical data and get to it quickly.
Once again, that’s an area where Bill’s
experience will help us continue to lead the
industry.”
“One of the things I am most excited about is
AAMCO’s entrance into Complete Car Care,” says
Mr. Larkin. “Not only do I have a deep working
knowledge of the transmission side of the
business, but my OEM service experience will
also help me develop leading-edge training
programs for Complete Car Care.”
“When I heard about the merger of industry leaders AAMCO and
Cottman, I couldn’t wait to discuss the
possibility of leading the technical side of one
of the largest chains in the automotive
aftermarket,” continues Mr. Larkin. “The
aftermarket is rich with opportunities. Our
future is very bright and I can’t wait to get
started.”
