| The Early Years
The
AAMCO success story began in 1963, at a
single transmission center on Front Street
in Philadelphia. The center opened with a
simple, straightforward business plan: to
offer motorists top quality work…service
backed by a no-nonsense warranty…and a
commitment to total customer satisfaction.
The plan worked. People liked the way they
were treated at AAMCO centers…liked
getting value for their dollar…and they
told their friends about it.
AAMCO
started to expand through franchising,
ensuring that the same high AAMCO
standards would be upheld by centers from
coast-to-coast. The first franchise opened
in September 1963 in Newark, New
Jersey—and the same owner/operator
remains at that center to this date!
Chairman
Robert Morgan guided AAMCO Transmissions,
Inc. from its modest beginnings in
Philadelphia to its number one industry
position across North America. Today,
AAMCO is by far the world’s largest
chain of transmission specialists, with
more than 700 locations throughout the
United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
